GSSSB Work Assistant Recruitment 2026 Eligibility
Educational Qualification:
- A Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized board, university or institution (equivalent qualifications listed in the official notification are also accepted).
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil Engineering are NOT eligible for this post.
- Basic computer knowledge and knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi (or both) is required.
Age Limit:
- General candidates: 18 to 33 years
- Women (General) and reserved category men: up to 5 years relaxation (maximum 38 years)
- Reserved category women: up to 10 years relaxation (maximum 43 years)
- Divyang and Ex-Servicemen: relaxation as per government rules (see notification)
Application Fee
- General (Unreserved): Rs. 500
- Reserved categories (Women, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, Divyang, Ex-Servicemen): Rs. 400
- Payment mode: Debit card, net banking, UPI or wallet
- The fee is refunded to candidates who actually appear in the exam.
Selection Process
The selection is through a written MCQ exam (computer-based or OMR) of 3 hours, with two parts:
Part A (90 marks): Reasoning and Data Interpretation (30), Quantitative Aptitude (30), Constitution of India, Current Affairs, Gujarati and English (30)
Part B (120 marks): Technical questions from the Diploma in Civil Engineering syllabus
There is a negative marking of 1/4 mark for every wrong answer. Candidates must score at least 40% in both Part A and Part B.

- If you have not registered before, complete the One Time Registration (OTR).
- Click “Apply Now”. Your basic details will appear automatically from your OTR profile.
- Fill in your SSC details, bank account details (needed for fee refund) and education details.
- Upload your recent photograph and signature in JPG format (maximum 15 KB each).
- Check all details, confirm the application and pay the fee.
- Print the application and the fee receipt and keep them safe.
